Glabber Moose

Glab's a bit of a chatterbox.  I swear, every time I look at him his mouth is open and he's yabbering away.

Mind you, sometimes he has really interesting things to say, so it's well worth your time to listen once in a while, if you have nothing better to do.  But don't feel obligated... he'll jabber away, whether or not anyone else is listening.  He doesn't care one way or the other, he's quite happy listening to himself!

Mary Juanna

I know, I know.  If it has antlers it's a male moose.

However, if you look at his expression closely, I think you might agree with me that he's been grazing in the "weed" patch a little too long.  A blissful happy grin, droopy eyes, and just look at him laying there, legs all over the place.  A spaced out moose if ever I saw one!  He insists his name is Mary.

Rawley

Rawley really loves to eat.  Anything.  Mostly chocolate, but anything will do if there's no chocolate to be had.

He's quite the handful, in more ways than one.  And, though it may be a little hard to tell in the picture, he's just a little impaired - his antlers are below his ears, which makes him a little hard of hearing.  It is tricky to get him to hear you telling him to PUT THE CHOCOLATE DOWN!

Moose Taddon (Tad)

Tad is my biggest moose.  He's immense compared with most of the others.

He has a very gentle soul, though, and loves it when the other little mooses play with (on) him.  He's a bit of a couch potato, and just kind of lays there, waiting patiently for attention.

Magoo

This is Magoo.  Yup, he's named after that half blind cartoon character.  I'm posting two pictures so you can see he really does have eyes.

You wouldn't believe it otherwise.  His nose is soooo big, he can't see around it without a bit of help.  Consequently, he's a bit of a clutz around the house and has to have a helping hand now and again.

Moccha

This is Moccha.  His fur is like a dark cup of coffee, and his antlers like a bit of foamy cream on top.

He loves it if you have a hot cup of something beside you (it doen't HAVE to be coffee - cocoa will do quite nicely), and have him on your lap to cuddle.

Blue

This is Blue.  He loves the blues and has gorgeous blue eyes.

His expression may make you think he's feeling blue, but don't let that hang-moose expression fool you - he's a happy little moose and sometimes you can hear him humming to himself.

Monty

Monty loves the Mounties.  He actually intended his name to be Mountie - but he can't spell very well.  He doesn't mind, though... he likes Monty the Mountie, too!

His greatest ambition is to get a spot in a parade along with the Mounted Mounties - he really, really wants to be Monty the Mounted Mountie.

Corderoy and Corderoy Junior

Corderoy was around quite a bit before I had Corderoy Junior join the clan.  Don't you just love his antlers?

And like most youngsters, Corderoy Junior is wide awake and raring to go - anywhere!  Both are ready for outdoor adventure in any weather, and have their own comfy scarves.

Oly and Mel

Oly and Mel are twins.  Oly was first by a month or two (I forgot I already had one like him), then I got Mel.

They love to play tricks and pretend they are one another, and both will answer to either name.  Aren't they adorable!  (All twins are, I think.)  But they are a little jealous of each other, so if you should cuddle one, be sure to cuddle the other one two.  It prevents hard feelings.

Mag (Nanna) Moose

Nanna by name and Nana by nature.  This little guy acts like a nana and loves to hug - anything!  (He has magnets in his hooves, which helps him to hold on tight to anything he's wrapped around.)

I believe he is my smallest moose... but I'm not entirely sure.  I still have a whole heap of them to find and document.  I have only done some of the ones upstairs, and then there are a whole 'nother herd of them downstairs.

Flapper Jack

Poor little ol' Flapper.  He's flatter than a pancake!  And full of beans (little ones) to boot.

He tried and tried to be noticed by people at the shop where I found him (2nd hand store), trying to get adopted, that he totally wore himself out and just plopped himself down like a flap-jack on a griddle - hence the name.  He's a right friendly little critter and always ready for a good chin-wag.

Mo

Mo's just a little bit of a moose, but he's got the cutest mohawk of hair on the top of his little ol' noggin.

He's just so proud of it, too, that he's got his antlers mushed down a bit so that the mohawk has pride of place.  He's a sweetie, though, and other than being proud of his nifty hairdo, he's not a bit conceited.

Joy Yuss

Joy was given to me by Jill Hayward, shortly after she found out about how much I love mooses.

He joyously guards my bedroom door and warns all those who may choose to enter, that they are entereing a "moose zone".  I particularly love his big nose!  It just begs to be stritched each time I come and go from the room.

Mauve

Mauve is one of my newest additions to my moose stash.  It's a little hard to tell in the photograph, but his fur does have a kind of mauvish tint to it.

He is extremely soft and cuddly, and really likes to be petted.  I haven't had him long enough (only a week or two) to get to know him very well... I may add to this post later.

Glitzen

Glitzen is a very distant cousin to Blitzen.  Glitzen has beautiful, sparkly eyes and a very sweet demeanor.

He doesn't do any flying, though.  He's a little too top-heavy for that.  (His head is as big as the rest of him put together!  But that's a purely physical issue - he has a heart as gold as his eyes.)

Al P. Moose

Al P. loves to hike.  (Al P.'s name is a play on words - he's from the Alps.)

He's all ready for the next excursion.  He has his walking stick, binoculars, and all sorts of other goodies stuffed in his back-pack.  He loves to go a-wandering and loves to yodel, too!
He's a distant cousin to Chris Moose.

Chris Moose

Chris is a plump little moose, all ready with pen and paper to make himself a list.

His favourite pasttime is shopping.  Any store.  For any thing.  And he really, really likes buying things for other people!  A right festive little fellow.

Goose

Yes... Goose.  He has a very loooong neck, in fact he's all neck, so I've named this one "Goose".   And yes, I do realize that that name, along with the "Canada" tattoo on his butt - this does make him a Canada Goose - hehehehehehe.  He is a happy, albiet slightly confused creature.

His main aim in life is to cuddle - anyone and anything - wrap around their neck and cuddle.  I love his wild hair!  He's a very cuddly little guy. While Mustard rides up front in the car, Goose rides in the back.

Mr. B. Winkel

This lanky moose loves to play golf.  The "B" stands for Bull.

Bull loves to stroll the greens, meandering thoughfully after golf balls (his, or anyone elses), and enjoys chatting with those he passes.

Honey Mustard

This is Honey Mustard.  I picked him up in Chase one time when Dad and Wim and I were there for a scouting thing... or was a Forester thing... can't remember exactly.  At the time, he was the most realistic moose stuffie I'd ever seen.

He travels with me in the car, just usually facing the other way.  I turned him around to take the photo.  Mustard is a lovely moose, nice large antlers, cute ears, and a tiny little beard under his chin.

In the beginning...

When I was little, my nickname was "moosie pie".  That actually translates as "mousie pie", but it was the start of my love for all things moose!
Slowly but surely, over the years, I have amassed quite the collection of mooses.  Small stuffies, large stuffies, t-shirts, mugs, ornamental figures, and even a piggy - or should I say "moosy" - bank.
Here, in this blog, I will introduce, one at a time, each of my lovely mooses.  (In no particular order.)
Enjoy!
